The Standing Committee is composed of the Foreign Ministers of the Member States of SAARC. Accordance with Article V of the Charter of the SAARC, they take measures / decisions on: the monitoring and coordination of overall program cooepration in different areas, the approval of projects and programs, including the terms of financing, determination of inter-sectoral priorities, mobilizing regional resources and external identifying new areas of cooperation based on appropriate studies.
To promote interaction between students, researchers, academics SAARC countries, the Government of India has introduced a scholarship from the SAARC and scholarship program. Standing Committee is responsible to meet as often as necessary. In general, they met before the sessions of the Council of Ministers or both at the Summit as well as the Council shall be convened between two vertices. In this way, the Committee will meet his Thrity-Seventh Ordinary Session in Thimphu, 25-26 April 2010 (before the Council of Ministers and the Summit sixteenth). According to a specific requirement, Standing Committee met in special sessions on stand-alone basis: so far, the Committee has held five sessions as the last (fifth) being in Dhaka April 12, 2006.
Dr. Salim Ali National Wildlife Fellowship Award 2011 for research / experimental project on birds is due to the allocation. The scholarship will be awarded normally for a period of two years at a rate of Rs 4000/-per months. In addition, an amount of Rs.18, 000 / - per annum will be paid to meet unexpected expenses. Only Indian citizens engaged in wildlife management / research are eligible. Preference will be given to officials of the forest / UT and fauna. Six and twelve scholarships scholarships are offered each year to nationals of member countries viz. Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Therefore, a purse and two scholarships are offered to nationals of any member country.
In addition, a president is also granted to a member on a rotational basis. Only such courses, for which no adequate facilities exist in the Member States are proposed for consideration by the Government of India. Financial conditions are finalized by the secretariat of the SAARC.
SAARC announced the Scholarship Program for Dr. Salim Ali National Wildlife Fellowship Award To commemorate the memory of the great wildlife ecologist countries, namely, Dr. Salim Ali to inspire and promote, especially the younger generation of wildlife managers and scientists to use research / demonstration projects aimed at conservation of rich fauna of this country, the govt. of India, Ministry of Environment and Forests has decided to award the scholarship each year alternately. Scholarships and bursaries are offered for studies in the fields of economy, education, environment, agriculture, mass communication, language and literature, sociology, engineering transport, Applied Economics, Master of Business Administration program, biochemistry, Food Technology social work and Home Science.
